Functions of the Gear Box
Gear box
  1. To increase the torque between the engine and the road wheels.
  2. To enable the vehicle to be reversed.
  3. To provide a permanent means of cutting-off power from the engine to the rest of the transmission system. Here, the engine can run without moving the vehicle.
