Functions of the Clutch

  1. To provide means of disengaging and re-engaging engine power from the rest of the transmission system.
  2. It enables the vehicle to move smoothly from the place it was parked.
  3. It assists in gear changing when the vehicle is in motion.
  4. To provide a temporary position of neutral.
